Welcome to the Colorado Institute of Public Policy at Colorado State University. The Institute is dedicated to addressing pressing policy issues in the Rocky Mountain West. Recognizing that our most significant challenges are complex, the Institute approaches problem solving by integrating multiple dimensions through interdisciplinary research, external partnerships, and community outreach.

Research and Collaboration Tools

The Water Research Interpretation and Evaluation Template is a tool for identifying strengths and weaknesses of research as well as helping clarify useful information.  The template can be used to compare multiple studies on similar issues, explore a single study in detail, or inform a discussion of the study.

The Bringing Health Disparities into Public Policies and Practices Template is a collaboration template to help decisionmakers and other stakeholders discover more effective ways to address health disparities.

Farm to Cafeteria survey of Colorado producers underway

The Colorado Institute of Public Policy in partnership with the Colorado Farm to Cafeteria group, Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado Organic Producers Association, and the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union is surveying Colorado producers. Colorado Lt. Governor Barbara O’Brien, who co-chairs the Denver Health & Wellness Commission and LiveWell Colorado, endorses the project “to help Colorado be the healthiest state in the county.” The information will help determine the opportunities, barriers, and interest level of Colorado producers to sell product(s) using various marketing strategies including the use of food directory listings and the involvement with various agricultural-related organizations. The survey will also assess alternative marketing outlets, such as farmer’s markets, K-12 schools, and other institutions.

To access a producer survey and/or for more information about the Farm to Cafeteria Project please contact Beth Coop, beth.coop@colostate.edu, 970-491-6007.
